Three ledges lay across the bead and butt profile door; a central standard ledge and two feature ledges which add a touch of class to an already stunning door. The door is full of character and comes with a few knots which if anything is reassurance that the door is constructed from 100% solid oak. Others may include large rustic knots which may require filling if you’re after a more perfect look.
These oak internal doors are manufactured to a standard 40mm thickness. Customers can choose the door widths from a 610mm, 686mm, 762mm and 838mm.
If a non-standard size is needed, it isn't a problem as we manufacture these doors, it is possible for us to make oak doors to non-standard sizes - please see our Made to Measure page. Made to Measure Available! Click here to find out more.
Our Solid Oak Rustic 3 Ledged Doors are supplied pre-sanded and unfinished to provide you with the opportunity to give it your desired look, the look that best matches the overall design of your house. If you prefer however, you can let us do the hard work through using our in-house oiling service and choose a prefinished option.
These doors are manufactured with specially kiln dried rustic oak that has a low moisture content of 6-10%. Nail holes are also visible within this door (these can be filled by the end user if preferred). The individual oak panels finished in a Butt & Bead profile.
Please note that all of our doors are initially unfinished (unless otherwise stated) allowing you to choose a finish to your liking, the doors displayed on our website vary in appearance due to the different finishes being used by ourselves and customers alike, in addition to the natural qualities of the wood this will also contribute to the door’s appearance. All hinges, handles, levers and door accessories are for illustration purposes only and sold separately. We cannot guarantee an exact match to images used across our door product imagery for the reasons stated above.
PLEASE NOTE: ALL TAVERN AND RUSTIC DOORS WILL CONTAIN NATURAL COLOURED FILLER IN OPEN KNOTS
Wooden Product Finishing
Our products are supplied fit for purpose and unfinished (unless a pre finished / treated door has been ordered). As oak is a natural product, sanding, polishing and colouring maybe required to achieve the perfect finish. If you have not ordered a pre-finished/treated door then we recommend that quality hardwax oils such as Treatex or Osmo Oils are used to seal and protect the goods and to validate your warranty. All of our doors must be treated before they are hung, not afterwards. It is vitally important not to miss areas where the door has been cut for hinges or any other door furniture as this would allow for moisture to get into the door and spread throughout it.
Modern oil finishes are extremely durable and hardwearing, they are very simple to apply and fast drying. Once your appropriate finish has been applied, generally very little maintenance is required. It is always advisable to cover any scratches that may occur over time. The benefit of using hardwax oil is that this is a very simple process of re-applying the finish to the affected area with a cloth.
Storage - Flat and Dry Only
As wood is a natural product it is important that it is stored correctly. We recommend that your new products are stored flat and in a dry area. We recommend that all packaging is kept on the products, or removed for inspection and then re applied for storage. Again as wood is a natural product it is susceptible to changes in each room's atmosphere and as such please be mindful of this and take care to avoid damp areas or newly plastered rooms etc.
This door must be fitted with a minimum of 3 hinges. This is due to the weight of the product, which can be attributed to the high grade materials used in the construction of the door. Choosing to ignore this requirement will void your warranty.
