Most french doors are hung as a pair that meets at the middle, and our french door kit brings a pair together with the hardware to hang them that way. You do not have to start from a named french door, though: because a pair maker joins two matching single doors down the centre, any full-light or Pattern 10 style glazed door can be turned into a french pair, which opens up far more of the oak range. If your opening only takes a single leaf, the same glazed doors work just as well on their own. It is worth planning the meeting edge and the handles early, as a pair takes a little more setting up than a single door.
Finishing your french doors
The doors are supplied unfinished, or with our oiling service if you would rather they arrived ready to hang. Seal every face before or soon after fitting, and keep the oil off the glass.
