More Info

Internal doors need not just be a functional and practical addition to your home. They can also be beautiful as shown by our outstanding Ledge and Braced Rustic Glazed Solid Oak Doors. This Rustic Glazed Door will add an extra element of style and class to any home. With an assortment of different finishes, we guarantee that we have the perfect choice for every customer. Glazed doors are an ideal option for anyone who likes the maximum amount of natural light to fill each room thanks to the glass panels that are integrated into each design. This provides the perfect way to illuminate any room with natural light and brighten any area. Made with rustic grade solid oak timber, these doors are perfect for the older property as the rustic grade oak imperfections add character to the door. Within the rustic oak, some planks will contain a few small knots, while others may contain larger rustic knots which may require some filling if a more perfect look is required. Other imperfections would be open or dead knots, cracks, shakes or splits. If you’re looking for a door with fewer imperfections, then consider our Solid Oak Ledge With Optional Braces or our Solid Oak Ledge And Brace Door.

Sizes

These oak internal doors are manufactured to a standard 40mm thickness, this is made up on 20mm thick vertical panels and 20mm thick horizontal ledges. They come as 1981mm in height as standard and you have the option of 4 different widths, ranging from 610mm - 838mm.If a non-standard size is needed, it isn't a problem at all, we can pretty much cater for any size you require. Just see our Made to Measure page for more information.

Our Solid Oak Rustic 3 Ledged Doors are supplied pre-sanded and unfinished to provide you with the opportunity to give it your desired look, the look that best matches the overall design of your house. If you prefer however, you can let us do the hard work for you through using our in-house oiling service and choosing the prefinished option.

These doors are manufactured with specially kiln dried rustic oak that has a low moisture content of 6-10%. The individual oak panels are finished in a V-Groove profile and nail holes are also visible within this door (of course, you can fill these in if you’d prefer).

Please note that all of our doors are initially unfinished (unless otherwise stated) allowing you to choose a finish to your liking, the doors displayed on our website vary in appearance due to the different finishes being used by ourselves and customers alike, in addition to the natural qualities of the wood this will also contribute to the door’s appearance. All hinges, handles, levers and door accessories are for illustration purposes only and sold separately. We cannot guarantee an exact match to images used across our door product imagery for the reasons stated above.

PLEASE NOTE: ALL RUSTIC DOORS WILL CONTAIN NATURAL COLOURED FILLER IN OPEN KNOTS

Maintenance

Storage - Flat and Dry Only

As wood is a natural product it is important that it is stored correctly. We recommend that your new products are stored flat and in a dry area. We recommend that all packaging is kept on the products, or removed for inspection and then re applied for storage. Again as wood is a natural product it is susceptible to changes in each room's atmosphere and as such please be mindful of this and take care to avoid damp areas or newly plastered rooms etc.

Wooden Product Finishing

Our products are supplied fit for purpose and unfinished (unless a pre finished / treated door has been ordered). As oak is a natural product, sanding, polishing and colouring maybe required to achieve the perfect finish. If you have not ordered a pre-finished/treated door then we recommend that quality hardwax oils such as Treatex or Osmo Oils are used to seal and protect the goods and to validate your warranty. All of our doors must be treated before they are hung, not afterwards. It is vitally important not to miss areas where the door has been cut for hinges or any other door furniture as this would allow for moisture to get into the door and spread throughout it.

Modern oil finishes are extremely durable and hardwearing, they are very simple to apply and fast drying. Once your appropriate finish has been applied, generally very little maintenance is required. It is always advisable to cover any scratches that may occur over time. The benefit of using hardwax oil is that this is a very simple process of re-applying the finish to the affected area with a cloth.
