Product Information

Need a stylish door to bring a little extra natural light to a darker area of your home? The beautiful Kerry Oak Glazed Internal Door allows a wealth of light to pass through, with its full height glass panel and toughened bevelled glazing. The use of multiple different sized glass panels create a tasteful design, whilst also maximising the amount of light this modern glass door allows to flow through the home. Designed to work exceptionally well as a double door pair, this contemporary glazed door would provide a great solution to creating an open plan vibe without knocking down any walls!

This unfinished oak glazed internal door has substantial 18mm oak lippings allowing it to be trimmed by up to 32mm in width and height, in equal measures making it really carpenter friendly. This glazed internal door is also delivered pre-sanded to provide you with the opportunity to finish the door on site and personalise it to suit the overall look of your home. However, we do recommend that you use products which fall in line with the requirements of the manufacturer’s 10-year guarantee, such as a clear matte hardwax oil to get the best out of your new internal door

Boasting a solid engineered core, this contemporary glass door demonstrates the quality gained from using FSC approved North American White oak veneer versus other cheaper materials. The open grain on this interior door allows the natural characteristics of the natural oak to be a stand out feature of the Kerry Glazed door.

Maintenance

Wooden Product Finishing

Our products are supplied fit for purpose and unfinished (unless a pre-finished door has been ordered). As oak is a natural product, sanding and treating maybe required to achieve the perfect finish. If you have not ordered a pre-finished/treated door then we recommend that quality hardwax oils such as TreatexOsmo, or Sikkens Polyurethane Varnish are used to seal and protect the goods and to validate your warranty.

For doors to acclimatise, they should be left in the house prior to installation for at least seven days with the ambient temperature gradually increased over this period.

All of our doors must be treated before they are hung, not afterwards. It is vitally important not to miss areas where the door has been cut for hinges or any other door furniture as this would allow for moisture to get into the door and spread throughout it.

Applying a stain prior to treating is known to highlight the areas where glue may have spread to the face of the door during manufacturing, particulary where veneers meet. This cannot be claimed for under warranty. A clear, hardwax oil is what should be used. If you would like to apply a stain to a door to acheive a particular finish, we would recommend purchasing a solid oak door instead.

Modern oil finishes are extremely durable and hardwearing, they are very simple to apply and fast drying. Once your appropriate finish has been applied, generally very little maintenance is required. It is always advisable to cover any scratches that may occur over time. The benefit of using hardwax oil is that this is a very simple process of re-applying the finish to the affected area with a cloth.

If you do decide to paint an unfinished oak veneer door then to comply with the door's warranty it must have an undercoat/primer and top coat which is solvent based, not water based.

Storage - Flat and Dry Only

As wood is a natural product it is important that it is stored correctly. We recommend that your new products are stored flat and in a dry area. We recommend that all packaging is kept on the products, or removed for inspection and then re applied for storage. Again as wood is a natural product it is susceptible to changes in each room's atmosphere and as such please be mindful of this and take care to avoid damp areas or newly plastered rooms etc.

Installation

This door must be fitted with a minimum of 3 hinges. This is due to the weight of the product, which can be attributed to the high grade materials used in the construction of the door. Choosing to ignore this requirement will void your warranty.
