This handmade OX-Bow External Solid Oak Door has been crafted to an extremely high standard to give your home’s exterior a touch of real class. This cottage styled external door is capable of working with contemporary and more traditional properties alike. Period, country or listed properties complement the stunning design of the Oxbow extremely well. 

The natural beauty of the oak complements a variety of brickwork colours; the subtle tones of the timber showcase the delicate graining whilst allowing the elaborate knots to take more of the attention. From the interior of your home looking out, you will gain a real sense of safety due to the thick, cross shaped panelling that supports the vertical boards of the door.

Many people are now turning to solid oak external doors for the additional security they can offer, and these doors are definitely thick enough for security locks to be added. 

These doors are supplied without glazing; you will need to choose the glazing style that best matches the look you’re trying to achieve. This will only increase the dramatic impact this solid oak door will give to the front of your home.

Made from PEFC Certified Oak, the doors feature tongue and groove construction with V-Groove Profile, they’re handmade this way to prevent warping of the door over time.  We understand that security is also very important to consider when you’re looking to buy an external door, this product is not only rugged and sturdy, but thick enough for security locks.

As our external doors are made from real oak, it’s recommended that they are not used in exposed areas, particularly those areas exposed to direct sunlight or rainfall. We do however, supply an Oak Weatherbar to match the door, which will be required if the door will actually be open to such elements.

Solid Oak External Traditional Door

This External Traditional Solid Oak Door is perfect for use in older or listed homes where a front door upgrade is required, but can also be used in more modern homes looking for that traditional look and feel, this due to its versatility. There’s never a definitive answer in terms of what kind of style of door should go where, some older houses look great with a modern twist and similarly newer houses can look amazing with a more traditional touch; it all depends on what your personal preference is and how you would you like to stamp your own ideas and personality to the exterior of your home.

Hand crafted from 100% oak, this door is both durable and beautiful. You can physically feel its quality and sturdiness whilst being able to see the intricate and natural beauty within the wood. The square panel does not come glazed in order for you to choose which glazing would work best in terms of what you’re looking to achieve. Clear glass would allow natural light to flood into the interior, whilst obscured glass would be ideal if you’d prefer to maintain some privacy.

Our range of external doors are made from solid oak, however we do not recommend usage in exposed areas i.e. direct rain or hot sun, therefore we recommend use in sheltered areas with a porch or canopy.

Living up to our usual high quality, this external stable door is manufactured using 100% solid oak and handcrafted with traditional techniques. The solid oak 4 panel stable door is created using the strongest mortise and tenon joints for maximum strength. Made from solid oak and 44mm thick, it does not only look impressive, but you can physically feel the quality of the product as well.

The glass panels are not supplied but the stable door top is machined to accept a double glazing unit. Approximate size for glazing is 339.25x294mm and we recommend you use this as a guide for quotation purposes only.

All our stable doors come as standard with a 1" rebate and, as they are identical on both the front and rear faces, you will be able to decide if you would like the door to open inwards or outwards.

Made from solid oak the doors are supplied unfinished so that you can apply the finishing touches yourself and match the beautiful character grade wood with other finishes in your home.

The solid oak external stable 4 panel top is manufactured using the strongest mortise and tenon joints for maximum stability. Made from solid oak and 44mm thick, this beautiful stable top is durable and will last for many years.

The beauty of the large panels is designed to bring in maximum natural daylight, without forfeiting the class and style of a cottage door and as the door is solid oak 44mm thick, you are able to fit a full 20mm double glazed unit for energy efficiency. We also supply an Oak Weatherbar to match the door, which will be required should the door be "open to the elements". We are delighted to bring to market a high quality stable door system. Made from solid oak the doors are supplied unfinished so that you can apply the finishing touches yourself in your preferred style that will complement your existing finishes.

You can choose your style of top to match this base, we have a range available from traditional cottage tops, through to French and panel styles; allowing you to mix and match throughout the range.

Just ensure that the size of the tops and the bases are for the same size 'finished' door i.e. 78" x 33". This stable door base is a full 44mm thick meaning that the frame and inside panels are all 44mm. The inside panels are floating therefore allowing for the wood to expand and contract with different weather conditions and minimising problems associated with solid wood doors. We also supply an Oak Weatherbar to match the door, which will be required should the door be "open to the elements". A traditional top for a traditional door. Our cottage top for stable doors uses very similar construction to the base with the exception of a small hole that has been deliberately left for glazing to be inserted into. By deliberately leaving this space for glazing you can choose from any range of options to match the style that best suits your house.
