Need some help?
Do you have a question about the Blenheim Multi-Ply Oak Flooring - 18/4x150x400-1500mm (1.98m/Pack) - Hand-Scraped/Distressed/Cognac Stained/UV Oiled, or need some help? You can contact the team who will be happy to help.
Product Information
A classic in the world of flooring, the Blenheim Rustic Oak Flooring is a great example of an affordable flooring solution that oozes style and class. This variation is a handscraped oak, meaning that prior to staining and oiling, the flooring has been scraped, to bring up more texture and definition in the grain and oak characteristics. The product is then distressed, to create a worn and used effect to age the product and give the illusion that the dark oak flooring has been there for years. The Blenheim floorboards are then Cognac stained, to give the oak a deep, rich caramel colour, after which is then UV oiled, so the colour will remain as it is and will not become victim to sun bleaching. Each individual board has a micro bevel on every edge of the board, creating a bit of definition between the planks. Available in the size W150mm x L400-1500mm x D18mm, our oak flooring can be trimmed down if you need to make any adjustments.
Constructed using multiple layers of wood, multi-ply oak flooring is strong and resilient, with the capability to refresh itself year after year. The process consists of bonding several layers of oak wood core to one another, and then sandwiching them between the base layer, and a 4mm wear layer made from rustic oak. The wear layer protects the core, keeping it strong, whilst also holding the structure together. It also allows the owner to sand it down to get rid of any marks and scratches in the wood, to refresh the entire floor, or even apply a different stain in the future. The Blenheim oak flooring uses tongue and groove fixings, making it incredibly easy to install as well as super strong. All oak used in the construction of this product is sourced from sustainable forests, as we have made sure we are responsible suppliers, doing our bit to be considerate of the environment.
Maintenance
Storage - Flat and Dry Only
As wood is a natural product it is important that it is stored correctly. We recommend that your new products are stored flat and in a dry area. We recommend that all packaging is kept on the products, or removed for inspection and then re applied for storage. Again as wood is a natural product it is susceptible to changes in each room's atmosphere and as such please be mindful of this and take care to avoid damp areas or newly plastered rooms etc.
Flooring Maintenance - Care Guide You'll know when your wood floor needs cleaning, as the dust and dirt is visible (unlike carpeting that hides its dirt below the surface) a simple vacuum, sweep or dry mop is all that’s needed to clean day-to-day dust and loose dirt.Dirt and grit act like sandpaper on the surface of a wood floor. As 80% of dirt comes from outside, place sturdy doormats and rugs at entry points and use furniture pads under chair legs and heavy furniture.
Consider a ‘no-high-heels’ policy and be aware of pets’ bad habits and scratching. Never place potted plants directly on a wood floor. For a thorough and regular (every couple of months) ‘refresher’ clean, use a recommended after-care cleaning/maintenance product and you’ll bring a new lease of life to your floor. Check out our 'After-Care' section for more help!
