Need some help?
Do you have a question about the Balmoral Engineered Oak Flooring - 14/3x190x1900mm (2.888m/Pack) - Smoked/UV Oiled, or need some help? You can contact the team who will be happy to help.
Smoked oak is a great choice for anyone that is looking to bring a bit of warmth and cosiness into their home. This beautiful rustic oak flooring has an abundance of classic timber characteristics and is a great choice for those with an appreciation for a natural looking product. Any knots, cracks and splits in the oak are more frequent than in a prime grade oak, giving the feel of authentic solid flooring and making a great first impression in any type of home. Whether you have traditional or contemporary decor throughout your home, this engineered oak flooring will be sure to enhance any room.
The floor boards are smoked to give them a distinctive change in colour, in this case a warm dark brown, which also accentuates the knots and splits in the wood, turning them slightly darker too. The UV oil used to finish this product will ensure that your new rustic oak flooring will not fade or become sun bleached over time in any areas exposed to lots of sunlight.
Available only in W190mm x L1900mm x D14mm, we recommend ordering a 10% wastage buffer, should you need any extras for finishing touches. The timber boards also come with a handy 3mm wear layer, should you ever need to sand it down to buff out any chips or marks in the flooring over time. All four edges of the oak floor boards have a micro bevelled edge, meaning that each individual plank is visible and defined.
Storage - Flat and Dry Only
As wood is a natural product it is important that it is stored correctly. We recommend that your new products are stored flat and in a dry area. We recommend that all packaging is kept on the products, or removed for inspection and then re applied for storage. Again as wood is a natural product it is susceptible to changes in each room's atmosphere and as such please be mindful of this and take care to avoid damp areas or newly plastered rooms etc.
Flooring Maintenance - Care Guide
You'll know when your wood floor needs cleaning, as the dust and dirt is visible (unlike carpeting that hides its dirt below the surface) a simple vacuum, sweep or dry mop is all that’s needed to clean day-to-day dust and loose dirt.
Dirt and grit act like sandpaper on the surface of a wood floor. As 80% of dirt comes from outside, place sturdy doormats and rugs at entry points and use furniture pads under chair legs and heavy furniture.
Consider a ‘no-high-heels’ policy and be aware of pets’ bad habits and scratching. Never place potted plants directly on a wood floor. For a thorough and regular (every couple of months) ‘refresher’ clean, use a recommended after-care cleaning/maintenance product and you’ll bring a new lease of life to your floor. Check out our 'After-Care' section for more help!

Delivery is typically 7-10 days from order date. Your flooring will normally come on a pallet and be shipped using a kerbside delivery. We will call you before delivery to agree a date that suits as someone will need to be available to help offload.
