Winners of the UK Oak Doors Photo Competition

Our annual photo competition has now come to a close. Thank you to everyone who took the time to enter, your photos were fantastic and made it extremely difficult for our judges to choose their top three!

Winner (£250 cash or an Apple iPad Mini): Jade McCall

After much deliberation, the judges finally chose Jade McCall’s entry as their winner and what a worthy winner it is!     This beautifully composed photo perfectly showcases the elegant oak grain which is surrounded by light, neutral tones and vibrant pops of colour.

The contemporary Mexicano door takes pride of place in Jade’s utility room and has been complemented by the addition of a stylish door lever and matching butt hinges. Jade is currently in the process of redecorating and will be fitting a further five solid oak Mexicano doors. Congratulations Jade, we can’t wait to see your finished home!

Second Place (£150 cash): Gail Hildreth

Second place goes to Gail Hildreth and her beautifully finished home. This brilliantly composed photo really places the focus on our solid oak Ox-bow external door. A number of personal touches help to create the perfect rural scene including an unusual passer-by in the form of a rooster!

Gail has created the perfect welcoming approach to the house whilst two Conifers immediately draw the eye to the door with its warm wood grain finish. Our judges love how well the Ox-bow suits Gail’s home and blends in to offer an authentic period appearance. Thank you for all of your photos Gail, we’re glad you’re happy with the finish!

Third (£50 cash): Rae Prince & Mike Flatt

In third place is this entry from Rae Prince and Mike Flatt. A pair of solid oak ledge and optional brace doors have been complemented by the addition of two hand forged D-handles and four T-hinges. The doors contrast perfectly against the dark wood floor and exposed brick wall to achieve a truly characterful and welcoming interior.

If you follow us on Pinterest, you may well have seen our dogs with doors board and this photo is a worthy addition. We had a number of entries containing pets posing with doors and all were equally as adorable but our judges felt that Rae and Mike’s entry best showcased the doors in a homely environment. Thank you both for your entry, your home looks beautiful!
