Bespoke Solid Oak Suffolk Door

Our Bespoke Solid Oak Suffolk Door is a superb addition for those seeking to infuse their homes, be it modern or traditional, with an oak cottage style. Crafted from prime grade white oak, this door exemplifies solid internal oak doors' true quality, where the natural beauty of oak is strikingly evident.

Featuring five vertical panels, this Suffolk oak door lends a clean, minimalist look, enhanced by the free-flowing natural grain of the wood. The varied wood tones add warmth to neutral interiors, while the prominent knots contribute additional character.

This frame and ledge door design, with its rustic cottage door charms and modern vertical panels, is made using traditional techniques. It comes either unfinished and pre-sanded or prefinished, oiled by our experts using high-quality hardwax oils. For a complete look, we recommend black beeswax finish ironmongery for a traditional home or satin nickel finish for a modern setting.

Maintenance

Internal Wooden Product Finishing

Our products are supplied fit for purpose and unfinished (unless a pre finished / treated door has been ordered). As oak is a natural product, sanding, polishing and colouring maybe required to achieve the perfect finish. If you have not ordered a pre-finished/treated door then we recommend that quality hardwax oils such as Treatex or Osmo Oils are used to seal and protect the goods and to validate your warranty. All of our doors must be treated before they are hung, not afterwards. It is vitally important not to miss areas where the door has been cut for hinges or any other door furniture as this would allow for moisture to get into the door and spread throughout it.

Modern oil finishes are extremely durable and hardwearing, they are very simple to apply and fast drying. Once your appropriate finish has been applied, generally very little maintenance is required. It is always advisable to cover any scratches that may occur over time. The benefit of using hardwax oil is that this is a very simple process of re-applying the finish to the affected area with a cloth.

Storage - Flat and Dry Only

As wood is a natural product it is important that it is stored correctly. We recommend that your new products are stored flat and in a dry area. We recommend that all packaging is kept on the products, or removed for inspection and then re applied for storage. Again as wood is a natural product it is susceptible to changes in each room's atmosphere and as such please be mindful of this and take care to avoid damp areas or newly plastered rooms etc.

Installation

This door must be fitted with a minimum of 3 hinges. This is due to the weight of the product, which can be attributed to the high grade materials used in the construction of the door. Choosing to ignore this requirement will void your warranty.
