Solid Oak Internal 1930s Door
Take a look through our customer photo gallery to browse more images of this product and many more!
This uniquely styled Solid Oak 1930s Door is the perfect choice when looking to add the finishing touches to your traditional home. Created from multiple pieces of oak, you can physically see the natural coloured tones and distinguishing features that make solid oak so special. The elaborate, accentuated knots and contrasting grain markings both add eye-catching character to the overall look of the door.
Available in Made to Measure sizes, fill out our contact form for more info!
It immediately adds personality and boasts all the features that are associated with the 1930’s, such as the three vertical panels, enabling you to capture the essence and authenticity of this period of time. This affordable product encompasses a number of important key looks for the 1930’s home. The streamlined shapes, minimal ornamentation and lack of colour all tie in with the ‘Moderne’ design movement of the time. The door itself features the classic ‘one over three’ design, a large flat panel in the top section with three vertical panels underneath, a design which will be found in most 1930’s built homes throughout the country.
Historically, doors such as this would’ve been made from pine wood and were often painted white. This style however, has been expertly crafted from solid oak using traditional techniques, elevating the class of the product so you can proudly display the natural beauty of the oak for all to view.
If this door isn't what you're looking for, we have a full range of 1930s doors.
This product is available unfinished and sanded or alternatively you can choose for it to be pre-finished before delivery. Our in-house finishing service uses the same high-quality oils sold on our site. They offer an enhanced wood finish as well as excellent levels of protection.
For your doors to be pre-treated, simply choose your finish before adding them to the basket
Please note that all of our doors are initially unfinished (unless otherwise stated) allowing you to choose a finish to your liking, the doors displayed on our website vary in appearance due to the different finishes being used by ourselves and customers alike, in addition to the natural qualities of the wood this will also contribute to the door’s appearance. All hinges, handles, levers and door accessories are for illustration purposes only and sold separately. We cannot guarantee an exact match to images used across our door product imagery for the reasons stated above.
Maintenance
Internal Wooden Product Finishing
Our products are supplied fit for purpose and unfinished (unless a pre finished / treated door has been ordered). As oak is a natural product, sanding, polishing and colouring maybe required to achieve the perfect finish. If you have not ordered a pre-finished/treated door then we recommend that quality hardwax oils such as Treatex or Osmo Oils are used to seal and protect the goods and to validate your warranty. All of our doors must be treated before they are hung, not afterwards. It is vitally important not to miss areas where the door has been cut for hinges or any other door furniture as this would allow for moisture to get into the door and spread throughout it.
Modern oil finishes are extremely durable and hardwearing, they are very simple to apply and fast drying. Once your appropriate finish has been applied, generally very little maintenance is required. It is always advisable to cover any scratches that may occur over time. The benefit of using hardwax oil is that this is a very simple process of re-applying the finish to the affected area with a cloth.
Storage - Flat and Dry Only
As wood is a natural product it is important that it is stored correctly. We recommend that your new products are stored flat and in a dry area. We recommend that all packaging is kept on the products, or removed for inspection and then re applied for storage. Again as wood is a natural product it is susceptible to changes in each room's atmosphere and as such please be mindful of this and take care to avoid damp areas or newly plastered rooms etc.
Installation
This door must be fitted with a minimum of 3 hinges. This is due to the weight of the product, which can be attributed to the high grade materials used in the construction of the door. Choosing to ignore this requirement will void your warranty.
