Solid Oak Ledged Barn Door 'Hidden Fixings' - 2'9" (838mm)

An extremely classy version of a traditional barn door. With traditional barn doors the ledges are fixed with screws to the vertical boards and then wooden plugs are used to fill the screw holes. With design and style in mind, we have rethought out this process and its aesthetic implications and have re-used the decorative 'pencil bead' on the front of the door to cover the screwholes and totally remodel the back faces of these doors.

By choosing sustainable European oak as the wood we have ensured that the doors look as good as they possibly could. European oak has a tendency to really highlight the character and light brown grain of the wood. Constructed with tongue and groove boards with a decorative bead and butt profile adding extra style to a traditional style door.

This design is supplied unfinished so you are able to finish to match your favourite wood treatment.

Ledges are trimmed to fit across the whole width of the door and are attached to the vertical boards using screws covered with the same decorative beading as is used on the front of the door, if you want to add some subtle class, these are the doors for you.

Your choice of door will have a large influence on the look (and more importantly 'feel') of a property and is an important consideration when building or redecorating. This style of barn door will add a lot of character and a homely feel to any room it is used in. They are ideal for adding a country feel to a modern home, or in traditional cottages or barn conversions. Picture shown is finished with a clear matt hardwax oil from Treatex; this really enhances the grain and beauty of the natural wood.

All doors are 44mm thick, this comprises of the main door being 22mm and the ledges being 22mm. Complete the look by adding our traditional T Hinges.

All of our oak internal doors are supplied untreated so that you can choose your favourite Oil or Wax Finish.
