Period Door Knobs are supplied with an adjustable threaded spindle which is suitable for mortice locks and rim locking systems called the Pitts Mortice System.

Brass Knobs are supplied without lacquer or sealant so that they will age naturally over a period of time and complete the antique look and feel.

The Nickel Beehive Period Door Knob was perfect for our 1850's house. They are quite heavy and look to be pretty robust. They are a lovely shape & I'm very happy with them. Unfortunately UK OAK DOORS didn't have enough in stock so they sent me some others that they said were exactly the same but smaller - these were incredibly different in both quality and style - they were round (not beehive) and had a much thinner reed, no way near as heavy and just not as nice - although the same price!! However, they'll do for the basement doors! Hopefully some more 'beehive' ones will be in stock shortly.
