Impranol Colour Base Coat

Impranol colour base coat is a low build wood stain which contains ingredients which are extremely effective in protecting against fungal growth. Impranol's base coat provides a micro-porous, water repellent layer which is vital in maintaining the stability of the timber.

This treatment provides excellent protection and will not peel, blister or crack. The translucent finish allows the natural beauty of the timber to show through whilst giving the wood a smooth, matt finish.

The base coat is perfect for being used in conjunction with our Impranol Elan top coat, these two items can also be purchased together in our value pack. The treatment is quick drying and in most environments will be dry to touch within 8 hours. We recommend leaving for at least 12 hours before adding a second coat. This base coat is fast and easy to apply by dipping, spraying or with a brush.

Impranol products have a fantastic cover rate, coating approximately 16-18 square metres of planed wood. Along with its easy application, Impranol base coat is extremely competitively priced and offers a number of application, durability and aesthetic benefits.

looks really nice golden oak
Why can't they call it basecoat on the tin. Also the tin doesnt tell you if its oil or water based (it's oil based by the way). The tin (0.75l) sugests tiit will cover 18sqm per litre (so call it 12 sqm for this tin. I used it on only half the door (Ox Box - side with more surfaces and edges admittedly) and it was half gone after one thick coat including edges. I now supposedly need to to the front (smooth) side and then the whole thing again for a second coat with only half a tin left already. Didnt smell too awful and looks really nice golden oak colour oak (there is some tint in the tin I got sent but it looks great on the bare oak).
