Currently only for internal use on we are pleased to announce our new Oak French Door kit. The door is supplied in unfinished and in kit form (flat pack) and will need assembly which will take approximately 10 minutes per door. Glazing profiles are supplied, per cut at 45 deg. but may need a small amount of sanding at the ends to make them fit as they are deliberately made approximately 2-3mm longer than required to allow the extra to be sanded on site for the perfect finish.
Final finishing can be done with Hardwax oils, we particularly recommend Treatex Hardwax oils for all our Oak Doors due to its high moisture content helping to prevent moisture transfer.
French doors are also known by the name of Pattern 10 Oak Doors, however where most other pattern 10 wooden doors, or oak French doors are made with either Oak veneer or engineered oak, ours are truly solid oak and they will be able to put up with the wear and tear, dog scratches etc, there simply is no veneer to start peeling off.
As our French doors are supplied in kit form, the standard size of the kit is xxxmm x 1981mm (2'9" x 6'6") however this design is particularly clever in the way it is manufacture red, by drilling long pilot holes in the top and bottom rails we allow for significant changes in the width, simply by cutting the rails to the required sizes. Glazing is not supplied but safety glass will be requried, this can be purchased easily from your local glazing company and made to any design you want, ie you may want beveled glass or you may decide that you want to put an Oak panel in the middle of the door instead, because of that nature of these French Oak Door kits, anything is possible
